The alarm company we had was bought out by SSD. While their techs can be very helpful, their sales and service coordinators are insensitive and dishonest when it comes to doing business. When we moved homes in 2015, they made us continue the contract in our new home although the previous home had outdated items they would NEVER use again (and in the end NEVER went to retrieve the old alarm from our previous home).
They installed outdated items in our new home and then tried to increase the monthly service fee. When our contract finally expired in March 2020, we canceled our service and then the pandemic hit. They were insistent on coming into our home to remove these outdated items. We asked that they please wait until this pandemic had ended as we were not comfortable for them to enter our home.
They sent an email EVERY MONTH (and continue to do so) insisting that they come in to remove the outdated items. I believe that the pandemic is still going on?! They don't care about the safety and health of people, and only care about outdated alarm parts that they will not be using again and mad that we didn't renew our contract. To make things worse, they locked the keypad one night, to where we couldn't enter our code to disarm, if we opened the door the alarm would have sounded and woken up my children and elderly parents.
We had to figure out how to disconnect everything to prevent the alarm from sounding. Very insensitive people running SSD. I would add 0 stars but I guess they can use 1 star for those techs that were very nice when they first provided service.

DONT EVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY! They trick you in their contract and make you believe you are signing a simple 5 year contract but little do you know it automatically renews with no notice for another 5 years. We were with them for 7 years and moved our business and wanted to move over the alarm. The sales rep wanted to charge us $400 and an increase in monthly charges for our new location.
We decided to go with someone else since they were a lot cheaper. SSD waited a month and then contacted us telling us we owed them $1600 for cancelling our contract. Everything about them is misleading!

This is the WORST company j. My alarm went out three times in the past month. I have wasted almost two hours to have it fixed. It happened gain today, and after waiting a half hour on the phone, I was told that there is no one available until Monday. Amazing. In the meantime, I am not protected. Last time, they made me fix it myself by pushing buttons for fifteen minutes. I'm sure that another company would do much better.

Come on, where is the "10". To say SSD is an exceptional company does not do them justice. We have been working with this company for more than 7 years and I have to say this is the best decision for a vendor I could have made. I can honestly say I have not dealt with one negative person in this company. I have received exceptional service from every department however, I do have to say Crystal Jauregui and Frank Mayorga are the best of the best, they make the magic happen. If anyone is looking for a recommendation, please feel free to reach out to me. I challenge any company to compete with the level of service SSD provides.

What a wonderful experience with this company, I have been with them for many years. I highly recommend them for your business security needs. I have decided to retire next month, so I had the pleasure of speaking to Tony Martin this morning, he assisted me in setting a closing date for my service contract with SSD. He was excellent. Made this process a breeze.

SSD stood out as the ONLY company to come in and give a quote that didn't go straight into a sales pitch about what I needed. Colton asked good, relevant questions and toured the building asking me what I wanted from the system, rather than trying to upsell me on products I had no use for. I knew within the first 5 minutes that I was going to go with this company.
Their installation team was the best! Kenny and Angel were clean, polite and professional. We had a couple of hiccups along the way, but the bugs were worked out quickly and I am thrilled with the ease of the system. Our company will definitely be using them when we replace our camera system soon!

They monitor our business and their technicians act and look unprofessional. Our tech looked grungy and was wearing a wrinkled ripped blue tee shirt. Come on guy wash and comb your hair and ask your boss for a new shirt. I suggest you look at other companies. We are done with these guys and will be looking for other options. Why would you contact me back three months after I post this review? #FAIL

This is my 2nd capture-cam installation, at a different location, because I definitely believe in this product. Since my 1st install the police have caught and arrested intruders on 2 occasions. I know the police respond quickly to this silent alarm because on a couple occasions I forgot to disarm the system when entering my building and could not believe how quickly the police responded. It's a whole different ball game when SSD monitoring personnel alert the police to an intruder with video proof, they respond quickly (unlike traditional alarms).
Once again SSD has been a pleasure to work with. The sales rep Crystal was great (and a looker too), very thorough and her follow up was excellent. I definitely recommend SSD and the capture-cam system.

I am giving two stars because the system did work, but it will not be more because their customer service is just not up to par. The cameras were also over-priced for what they are, and do be aware, they do not cancel your service even with written notice given 90 days prior to the term expiration. They must have paid for their 5-star reviews. We will not be calling this company back.

SSD is one of my worst alarm vendors of the 3 companies I use for different properties. We used McNeil Security for years which was a family owned company and they were unbelievable. Unfortunately McNeil sold the company about 2 years ago to SSD and the experience has plummeted. Our biggest complaints are: *Poor customer service on the phone for account changes *Service technicians that don't adequately know the features and benefits of the installed systems *They send out collection letters for past due accounts when they forget to send quarterly invoices for payments *They change the terms of the original contracts such as raising the monthly fees but uphold us to all parts of the contracts such as term length before cancellation.
There are many, many choices out there for service and many are not that great. They will all have either 3 or 5 year contracts The best company we have had to date is SST in terms of equipment, inside and field tech help and contract length and pricing. Thanks, Bobby
