For years, this was a top notch company, but has recently merged/expanded and their current lack of customer service is fallout from this growth. My alarm system was installed 3 years ago and has had intermittent connectivity issues since installation. Zones go "offline" intermittently which triggers notification calls. The service department members are all very personable, but they do not keep good records and are unable to communicate what the previous technician has tried or done, which is critical for these types of intermittent issues. Furthermore, it is impossible to get the same technician.
Each time a new technician comes out, they charge for a service call, and you have to request that the charge be dropped. The most recent time, they arrived with the plan to replace the same equipment already replaced at the previous service call. The solution was to reschedule, yet again. While I could be forgiving to a company that was embarrassed by these lapses, Alert Protective seems content to just keep scheduling service calls.
I'd recommend another company if you want a working alarm system. Update - I cancelled service in December 2021, based on the review above. In February 2022 I received a bill from them. I contacted them and was assured that the charge was "an error" and that the account was "closed". I received another bill in May 2022 that had to be "cancelled". No apology for hassling me, and assured that it wouldn't happen again. We'll see. Very disorganized and poor record keeping. Strongly suggest any other alarm company

I highly recommend Alert Protective Services-we've been with Alert for 6 years and have always been impressed by their customer service. A year ago we had our basement refinished, and Alert came before and after the project, giving us extra time and attention, to ensure we had the right products to meet our new needs. Whenever we've accidentally set off our own alarm, Alert is always on it and reaches out to us immediately. We feel an extra sense of security knowing we have Alert.

Very happy with the service I received from Alert. Around ten years ago, Alert Protective installed security cameras and an alarm system in my home. Both the security cameras and alarm system are still fully functioning after a decade of use. The support team is always easy to get a hold of and is quick to help. I would highly recommend Alert Protective to keep your family and home safe!

Been using these guys since January 2018. Service works flawlessly. I have had them out twice to add to our system. Very happy with the cameras, alarm.com system, how it works with my phone, etc. They are protecting my 35k warehouse. We use Key FOBS to enter, cameras protecting things, etc. Highly recommend these guys.

I was with another service provider who was bought out by Alert. They had my address wrong (wrong apt. number) and actually called to report an alarm but it was for the wrong address. They had our names wrong on the account. I finally got those issues settled. I had a problem with my system and they said they needed to come out since it seemed I needed a new battery.
The guy they sent couldn't find the problem and told me he was new and needed help. He called another tech in the neighborhood who came over and said I that it wasn't the battery and that I would not be charged for the appointment or the battery which I didn't need. He said the problem was that my system was old and a salesman would call and come out to assess my needs.
He told me a new "mother board" would likely be less than $400.00. No-one called or came out. I called them and someone told me it would likely be about twice that amount. Then they started billing me for the work that they said I didn't owe. On three occasions they rebilled me after telling me it would be taken off. Now they have taken the money by unauthorized use of my credit card which they have for monthly billing.
Their left hand doesn't seem to know what their right hand is doing. Again they said I would be contacted by a salesman to reassess my needs.no one called. Pretty disorganized and I didn't like them using my credit card for something I didn't owe. Beware!

Gustavo is Alert protective best asset. Ask for him as much as you can. I was frustrated with alert at the beginning due to a bad sales representative who talked the talk but did not walk the walk. However, their technician Gustavo really took matters into his hands and did an amazing job! I am very impressed with people, like Gustavo, who take their job seriously and work after hours to resolve our issue. He understands the costumers needs and knows how to work with inspectors. I will use Alert again as long as I can have Gustavo as my technician! I give Gustavo 5 STARS!
