Around 5:10 am today one of Alert Alarm of Hawaii's drivers nearly ran me over in the crosswalk on Makaloa Street. I wasn't able to take a picture of their plate in order to report them, so I am leaving this negative review instead.

I recommend Rochelle Mendoza from Alert Alarm Hawaii. She works hard, she's very intelligent, and she follows through with her commitments. She is both professional and friendly. She also does valuable outreach with kids in our community.

The doorbell camera has extremely poor quality video. I called the office and was told my wifi signal was the issue. I accepted that answer for over a year. Frustrated, I picked up a Ring doorbell camera at Costco figuring I could return it if I wasn't satisfied with the video quality. Guess what, video is perfect and Ring monitors wifi signal strength.

Signal strength is beyond awesome. I don't recommend Alert Alarm video anything! I don't have to deal with Alert Alarm's limitation of 1000 videos per month. Once that is reached, your camera stops recording. That's really helpful!

False alarms, alarms that the monitoring center couldn't even tell were happening. Had an actual break in and then the alarm didn't go off. Had five different technicians come out and none could fix it. Had a hard time cancelling with customer service as well.

In my community Alert Alarm put up a sign in community park (public property) trying to scare people into thinking the neighborhood is bad while advertising their security system. The sign has the nighborhood watch symbol on the sign and the sign says in giant red letters "Security Alert" Below that in smaller black letters it says "Immediately call 911 for suspicious vehicles or persons" and on the bottom of the sign also in red letters it says "Alert Alarm" with their contact info and address on the sign.

I find it despicable that they are trying to scare people in this very safe neighborhood into buying their product, especially considering the sign was put up on public property in a community park, not on one of their customers lawns. The sign is also not one of those little ones you would see in a persons lawn or yard. The sign is the same size and shape as the real estate signs you see so it was very visible and I can't emphasize enough that they put up a scare tactic advertisment on public land. That should be criminal.

Junk alarm system and service! We paid about 5k on home installation about 4 years ago. Have had nothing but problems with the system. Numerous false alarms. Multiple service visits and nothing improves. Not worth the $$$ or hassle. Company refuses to give us partial compensation us for this junk system when we ask to cancel service. On top of this their employees and even the listed CEO is posting fake reviews on google

One of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. I am righting this review in hopes of saving others the frustration I had. I feel they are very dishonest and signing a contract with them will be something you will probably regret. Below is a summery of my experience. I took over a business and called them to transfer service into my name.

They sent out a rep and told me how much it would be a month and just initial here and here and sign. They didn't bother to verbally mention that I was signing a 5 year contract, I only had a 3 year property lease. There was absolutely no reason they needed a five year contract, they didn't even have to install anything as the equipment was already there.

A few weeks later I found out about the 5 year contract after have some trouble with the account because they only transferred part of the account to my name. I called, wrote letters, did everything to try to get out of this totally unnecessary contract and they were super rude and refused until it became obvious that they had improperly transferred the account without the past owners permission. On top of that it took about 1 hour in there office to get the paper work done to get the account officially closed.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! This company uses horrible sales techniques. I called to get a quote for my home. Everything sounded good. They told me I could try out the service for 30 days no obligation and no money down until I say I like it for sure. I questioned the sales rep because paperwork said different. But rep reassured me I would have 30 days.

He even changed it on my paperwork. After having alarm system for less than a week I noticed that $150 was deducted from my bank account and also that I had a hit on my personal credit score. Come to find out the sales rep ran my personal credit with no permission of mine with my name, and address. Didn't even know you can do that without a social security number.

I was getting ready to purchase a home and because of this inquiry on my credit I now have to wait longer to buy our home. It knocked my score down and Alert Alarm is saying that I am stuck with them in a 5yr contract. I told them cannot be, rep said I had 30 days to test it out. Said they never do that and so now I cannot get a refund and the sales rep screwed me. My family attorneys are now gonna handle this due to the lies and illegal run of my credit. I should have looked at other companies first.

Its been several years and their services are so poor I wanted to end the contract, but they say I have to pay till November. My service delayed to fix 2 problems since last month and the appt is till Oct 18th and I have only one more month to terminate. They said "NO" I cannot stop the service till contract ends 2 more months.

The worst commercial service I've had for any type of business. Alert Alarm Hawaii installed their recommended video monitoring system, it has not worked properly since installment. I called to get a service tech out to check on it and it took 1 month to get someone out, who then canceled at the last minute. The service department said that they would call me back to set up another day for service and of course they didn't call me back.

I had to call the service department the next day to remind them that I was waiting for a service tech. The service tech finally came out and after 4 hours couldn't figure out how to correct the problem. No one has called to follow up and I've been waiting for 2 weeks now for someone to come back and finish the job. I think they just don't have qualified staff to work on issues, if they did, someone would have been back!
