I'm product manager at Control4 and I'd like to introduce our intercom functionality now available on our 5 and 7 inch touch screens." Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "You may have seen the 5 and 7 inch touch screens... they come in black and white. You can see on the main interface of the touch screen that I brought the intercom icon up to the top level so that it is easy to use intercom in those rooms where intercom use is common. You can do this in the interface by creating a custom home screen and adding the favorite, the intercom icon to the top level." Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "When I click on the intercom icon, I'm presented with all the touch screens in the house that have intercom functionality. I can select one and now I have the options to talk and listen, where I can have a 2-way conversation with the person in the room. I can talk only where I make an announcement through the house like, 'come to dinner' or I can listen, where I can monitor the room. This is very handy for like a baby's room for example." Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "There are also some device settings here. It's set by default for 'Auto-Answer' so that I can have hands-free conversation. When I want to talk to somebody in the other room, they don't have to do anything. They can still be sitting on the couch or whatever and they can reply back and I can hear. I can also set it to 'Manual-Answer' or I can set it to 'Do Not Disturb.' 'Do Not Disturb Mode' allows me to essentially disable the speakers in that room so that nobody in that room will hear anything. I also have a 'Privacy Mode.' 'Privacy Mode' disables the microphone so that I can have privacy in the room but if somebody is looking for me or if somebody says, 'come to dinner' I can still hear that message." Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "Now let's see what Isaac is doing in his room. Hey Isaac, are you awake?" Isaac - "No, I'm still asleep." Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "Get up, it's time for school." Isaac - "No" Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "You may wonder where the microphone and speakers are in this touch screen. We really wanted a nice, clean look on the wall so we chose to locate the microphone behind the top corner on the the touch screen on the back and the speaker is located on the bottom. So the sound actually bounces of the wall as it's coming out of the speakers and off the wall as it goes into the microphone, a sensitive microphone that allows you to pick up all the sound in the room for a really nice intercom functionality." Jeff Thomas (Control4 Product Manager) - "If you have one of our old 7 inch or mini touch screens in your wall and your interested in having one of these new touch screens... or you're also interested in having some intercom functionality around your house, we've created some adapter plates that allow you to easily mount a 7 inch touch screen to the older 7 inch wall-box without doing any sheet rock work and likewise mount a 7 inch or a 5 inch in the mini touch screen wall-boxes... again, you can just add the adapter plate to the existing wall-box in the wall and then attach the new touch screen to the wall."
