I have been a Protection One customer for over 20 years. I expanded my business, adding another location, and asked them to quote, reminding them I had three locations on Protection One and to be mindful about pricing on the fourth. It took weeks with constant calls to get a quote that was inflated on install as well as monthly monitoring. The worst part was the weeks we ran with no alarm. Called ERS and their response was almost instant.
Big shout out to Kenny. He's AMAZING and took care of all the details including my phone app which still monitors both ERS and one of my homes which is under contract with Protection One. ERS was faster, gave better service, and was way cheaper. There are times when I am SO happy to write a review. This is one of them.

I would like to give them a zero star but no option for me. We got the system installed like one and half years ago and the guy broke my window when he did installation for one sensor and they did nothing from that time except sending us the invoice for final bill for the installation and contract for starting service. Nobody called us according to finish the installation and fix or replace me windows until half year ago, they contact us want to let us start the service, we said ok let's find out what you guys did to my house.
Then they sent a guy to check all the sensors and the broken windows, the guy said they to install 6 more sensors and waive all the final fees for our installation, so we signed the contract. But we sold the house two month ago and told ERS please ask for new owner to finish our term and transfer the system under their names. They told us that is our responsibility to transfer service to next owner and ask them to pay the bill or they will keep charging us.
I pretty sure this is the worst experience with a company especially they didn't do anything to the new owner after we already sent them the transfer service form, they keep charging us and called a collection company to collect a total $1600 fee. The thing I pretty sure that we already paid $550 for the pre-installation fee and you guys waived another $550. Where those fee came from? We will ask a lawyer to take care of it and suit them for this ridiculous case. Don't use this alarm company if you have other options.

1) Bad Service 2)Bad Installation --1/5 Not Recommended. 1) Messed up my cancellation - I sent a cancellation note Royce and he didn't process my letter. As i left the country, 5 months pass and I start to receive FINAL NOTICE / COLLECTIONS mail. Turns out little boy Royce messed up and didn't cancel my service. His boss needs to review his work because he messed up and clearly wouldn't admit it. 2) Paying $200 Installation Fee - The china man who didnt speak english didn't clean up the dry wall mess on my floor and put an extra hole in my wall.
I complained numerous times but they wouldn't professionally fix my wall and still charged me $200 for installation. This is prime example of a poorly run Chinese company operating in the US. I would not recommend their services and would have people go to real professionals.

I wish I can give zero star. First, when we decide to cancel this service, they said the paid off fee is 59 but, later they charged me 89. Ok, I paid. Second, they said they need their equipments back, we said sure, come. When they arrive they start take everything. Including we previously own, we stop the technician. He called the office we discussed.
They said they need their ALL equipments back. We said we need to discuss with our landlord first, come back tomorrow. Then the officer name ALICE start threaten us. They said they will put our information on some kind website to ruin us. We called the landlord he said, he wants the office to call him. Then this Alice said we DON'T call anyone. Let the landlord call the office.
Then she start transferring the call. Finally, we agree to a solution. They take the parts away. NO signature ANYWHERE. So I ask for a picture prove. And the technician wrote "# There Stupid!" on the Invoice. THIS IS HOW THEY DO BUSINESS. I AM SHOCKED. CALLING PEOPLE STUPID. CHARGE PEOPLE WHATEVER THEY WANT. INTIMIDATING PEOPLE IN ORDER TO FUFILL THEIR INTENTION. THEY CAN NOT WAIT 12 HOURS TO RESCHEDULE.

Worst company ever. BEWARE: READ YOUR CONTRACTS! This company has the most ridiculous rules. They take your money so fast but when you need service or help, you have to wait over a week! I was getting false alarms and decided to finally call them to help. I spoke with the customer service rep who informed me that there was a queue of clients waiting for a technician.
I understood and scheduled for the next available appointment. She informed me that the next appointment will be in two weeks later. I agreed and we set a time and date of when my technician is suppose to come. I had to call a day off work to be present at tmr home when the tech came. Sent in our cancellation letter today. Been with the company for 6 years, but in order for you to cancel 1) YOU MUST CANCEL 90 DAYS PRIOR TO CONTRACT TERMINATION and 2) YOUR CONTRACT AUTO RENEWS EVERY 2 YEARS (Note even top notch ADT auto renews). BEWARE! READ THE CONTRACT! I regret our past manager didn't read it carefully 6 years ago. Oh well, I rather pay a 90 days cancellation penalty than give any future business to ERS.

NOT even deserve one star! Get away from this Highway Robbery company, they charged me $1600 for installation fee and the equipment is NOT even yours! 4 years later with paying $36 each month, they charged ridiculously every single time if you need their service. I am just done with them, happy switching to Frontline! Today called them to cancel the service.
A cold voice rep. kept on informing their company policy: 90 days advance notice, need to send technician to take out the equipment, and sending a tech will cost you another $150! What kind of company this is? I was stupid enough to stick with this company for more than 15 years. I am so glad now I can get them off from my back for ripping me off!

I will give a zero star if I can. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Had been with this company for almost 17 years. Renewed my 'contract' back in 2012. They installed a 'new' system and things were OK first. But one of the sensor started to give out false alarm so they dispatch their tech to fix it. That happened a couple of times in 13 and 14. In 16 the same sensor failed again, called them and they told me that will cost me $120 to have a tech to come out.
I told them no and want to cancel service so I can get another company. Then I found out that there is an AUTO RENEWAL cause in the contract and it will take 90 days advance written notice to cancel, and on top of that I need to return the alarm system which including all sensors, panel, control box. It just came to me that they want to charge their customers to fix THEIR OWN alarm equipments and also want to get non working equipments back. VERY VERY bad customer practice.
